Smith, who will share the mission and goals of a newly created ethics coalition that will address in real terms the fabric of ethics in our community. Through the efforts of passionate, committed members, the Business Ethics Alliance strives to establish our area as a region known for high personal and corporate ethical standards. The Alliance emphasizes the interdependence between ethics and leadership. We support the idea that both leadership and ethics are necessary for effective decision making and for defining and executing the vision and performance of the organization. The Alliance provides a forum of support to the Manatee, Sarasota and Venice communities so ethical standards and integrity in the workplace can be discussed, defined and reinforced. Initiatives include:

•  Networking and Resources:
  With the strength of a diverse knowledge base, we share information and resources that are a benefit to members of the Manatee, Sarasota and Venice Business community. We achieve this through varied programs based on timely topics related to business ethics, integrity and leadership. We provide an opportunity for leaders to engage and learn best practices from people and organizations with shared commitments.
  
  
•  Education:
  Realizing that a strong knowledge base is a key component for this initiative, we promote high value, high quality educational opportunities and programs that foster integrity in the work place. We support groundbreaking thinking and research that contributes to the integration of theory and best practice on leadership and ethics in organizations.
  
  
• Mentoring:
  The Alliance actively supports corporate and personal mentoring for the advancement of ethical standards and practices in business and business education. We provide opportunities for mentoring that help people develop relationships with organizations committed to ethics, integrity and leadership.
